For leases and mileage-limited insurance

Find out you're over your mileage allowance now, not at handback.

MileMinder tracks your odometer against the allowance in your lease or mileage-limited insurance policy, projects where you'll land by the end of the term, and tells you while you can still do something about it.

Free to use. No card, no spreadsheet.

Just want the number? Use the mileage calculator — no account needed.

£300.00

3,000 miles over, at 10 pence a mile

Excess mileage is charged per mile, every mile over — and you find out at handback, when it's far too late to drive less. Most people go over by a little each month without ever noticing. That's the entire problem MileMinder exists to solve.

The MileMinder dashboard: a dial reading 123% of budget and 3,783 miles over allowance, alongside the current odometer, the allowance accrued so far, the current and safe daily pace, a countdown showing the plan ends in 490 days, and a projected penalty of £1,062.49 over the full term.
One screen for the only question that matters: am I going to be over?

What you actually get

Know your handback date

A running countdown to the end of your agreement — “1y 154d left, plan ends 01 Jan 2028” — next to the miles you have left to spend. No mental arithmetic, no digging out the finance paperwork.

See the bill before it arrives

Add the excess-mileage rate from your agreement and MileMinder projects the penalty in your chosen currency, so “a bit over” becomes a number you can actually act on.

Get warned before you blow it

Pick a threshold — 90% of your current budget, say — and we email you the moment you cross it, or when your projection says you are heading over. Once when it happens, not nagging you every day.

Try the trip before you take it

Thinking about a 600-mile round trip next month? The what-if tool shows exactly where it would leave you — miles, current-budget percentage and projected cost — before you commit. Nothing is saved.

Every car in the household

Two cars on two different agreements is where this gets genuinely hard. The fleet view rolls them up: who is over, who is under, your total annual mileage, and which one needs watching.

The number your insurer asks for

MileMinder keeps a running lifetime average annual mileage alongside your recent pace, so at renewal you can quote a real figure instead of guessing and hoping.

Your line against the line you're allowed

Your actual mileage plotted on a real calendar against your allowance, for the whole term. If the green line is creeping above the blue one, you can see it coming months out — and see whether easing off has actually worked.

The what-if tool draws straight onto it: put in the trip you're considering and the date, and the dashed line shows you where you'd end up.

The MileMinder graph page, plotting actual miles driven against the allowance limit over the full term, with the what-if panel open showing that 600 extra miles would land 4,817 miles over the line at 128% of budget.

Three things to do

01

Add your car

Your allowance, the start and end dates, and the odometer reading you are starting from.

02

Log the odometer now and then

A one-tap quick-add form, and the whole thing installs to your phone home screen like an app.

03

Let it do the worrying

Check the gauge when you feel like it. If something needs your attention, you get an email.

Start before the next reading, not after the next bill.

Add your car, put in today's odometer, and you'll know where you stand in about a minute.
