PCP mileage calculator
Am I over my mileage allowance? Put in your agreement and today's odometer and you'll see where you stand right now, where you'll finish if you carry on like this, and what the excess mileage charge would be. Works for any mileage-limited agreement — a UK PCP, a personal or business lease, or a mileage-limited insurance policy. Free, no sign-up, nothing saved.
How mileage allowances work
What counts as being over your PCP mileage allowance?
Your allowance accrues steadily across the agreement, not in one lump at the end. This calculator compares the miles you've actually driven against the miles you were allowed by today's date — that's the “over” or “under” figure at the top. Being over partway through isn't a charge yet; it's a warning about where you'll finish.
How is excess mileage charged on a PCP or lease?
Excess mileage is normally billed per mile over the total allowance at the end of the agreement, at a rate written into your contract (often around 10p a mile, but check yours — on some agreements it is far higher). Enter that rate above and the projected charge is shown in money.
What can you do if you're heading over your mileage limit?
The “miles a day” figure is the one to act on: drive under it from here and you finish inside your allowance. If that isn't realistic, talk to your finance provider early — some will let you increase the allowance mid-term, which is usually cheaper than paying the excess rate at handback.
Does this work for leases and mileage-limited insurance too?
The maths is the same whether the limit comes from a PCP, a personal or business lease, or a mileage-limited insurance policy: an allowance, a term, and an odometer. Use the total-allowance option if your agreement quotes one number for the whole term rather than a figure per year.
